Dr. Mercer is a specialist in cataract surgery, laser surgery, and the medical and surgical treatment of eye disease.

A native of Oklahoma, Dr. Mercer received both her bachelor’s degree in biology and her medical degree from Texas Tech University. Dr. Mercer completed a one-year internship in internal medicine and a three-year residency in ophthalmology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Mercer completed her formal medical training with a fellowship in neuro-ophthalmology at the University of Iowa.

Dr. Mercer is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.
