Dr. Emig is a specialist in medical and surgical treatment of the vitreous and retina, diabetic eye disease, and cataracts.

Born in Memphis, he was raised in the Midwest. He holds a bachelor of arts degree with distinction from the University of Kansas and a medical degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center. Following an internship at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Dr. Emig served his ophthalmology residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He completed his formal training with a fellowship in vitreoretinal disease at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Midwest Eye Care. Dr. Emig joined Midwest Eye Care in 1994.

Dr. Emig is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Dr. Emig has served as Midwest Eye Care’s medical director for Mission Cataract, an annual event where patients without the financial means to afford cataract surgery are selected for free surgery. He also provides volunteer care through the Hope Medical Outreach Coalition. Dr. Emig also serves as the Medical Director for the Midwest Eye Surgery Center.
