Ophthalmic technical assistant – Midwest Eye Care is searching for cheerful, motivated individuals to assist our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their clinics. Technicians work at our three metropolitan offices and may occasionally travel with the doctor team to outlying rural clinics. Hours are generally 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, with one Saturday commitment each month from 8:00 to 12:00. Previous experience is preferred but not required. All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.  There is no application deadline for this position.

Clinic RN/LPN-C – Midwest Eye Care is a large, fast-paced ophthalmology clinic searching for cheerful, motivated RN/LPN-C’s interested in a challenging career assisting our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their clinics.   Previous experience with injections is preferred but not required.  LPN-C’s will need to be certified for venipuncture.  Excellent customer service skills, positive attitude and strong work ethic required.  Full-time with some travel required, and one Saturday morning commitment per month.  All holidays off and no on-call requirements.  All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.

Patient Registrar – As a patient registrar, the employee will check in patients, input demographic and insurance information, summarize charges at the end of the exam and make the patient’s next appointment.  This position could be assigned to our offices at 4353 Dodge or 13500 California in Omaha, or 715 Harmony in Council Bluffs, so the employee must have reliable transportation.  The hours are typically 8:00 to 5:00 but may vary slightly based on patient schedules.  This position provides good exposure to health insurance basics.  The successful applicant must be adept at using a mouse and Windows-based software, and prior experience in a medical or customer service role is preferred. All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background and credit check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background and credit check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.

Optometric Assistant – Midwest Eye Care is searching for cheerful, motivated individuals to assist our optometrists at our suburban optometry clinics.  The primary location will be at our 7202 Giles Road in La Vista location but the individual may be required to travel to our other suburban location at 18111 Q Street and possibly at our other metro locations in Omaha and Council Bluffs. Our operating hours for the three offices are 8:00 – 1:00 and 2:00 – 5:30 on Monday and Wednesday-Friday, 12:00 – 7:00 on Tuesdays, and 8:00 – 12:00 on Saturdays.  The position will work approximately 40 hours per week, with varying time scheduled off to avoid overtime.  Employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month.  Successful applicants should have the following attributes: friendly, well-spoken, organized and detail oriented, focused on customer service, at ease interacting with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and be comfortable using the computer.  Previous experience is preferred but not required. All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.

ICD/CPT Coder – Midwest Eye Care is searching for an experienced coder in coding surgical procedures using CPT coding.   The applicant should also be familiar with ICD9 and ICD10 diagnosis coding.  CPT coding certification or its equivalent is preferred. Registered Nurse – Midwest Eye Surgery Center is searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in the PACU/OR. Experience in ophthalmology is a plus, but is not required.  This position will work in both pre-op and post-op. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of nursing care while supporting the concepts of patient-centered care in an efficient and timely manner. An ideal applicant will establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and other Midwest Eye Surgery Center personnel while assuring confidentiality of patient information. Outreach Assistant – Midwest Eye Care is searching for an Outreach Assistant. This individual would be a member of the team that provides coordination of patient care for Midwest Eye Care’s outreach clinics located in Nebraska and Iowa.  The assistant is responsible for preparation of charts, equipment and physician and patient needs to ensure quality patient care and smooth operations.  The assistant will also coordinate scheduling of surgical procedures with patients, facilities and the facility staff and will be cross trained in surgery scheduling in the metro area.  The Outreach Assistant will also perform other tasks as assigned by the Outreach Supervisor.  Successful applicants should have the following attributes: friendly, organized and detail oriented, focused on customer service, at ease interacting with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and be comfortable using the computer.   This position will be based at our office at 13500 California Street in Omaha. Laser assistant/medication aide –  Midwest Eye Surgery Center is looking for an individual to work part time to assist with various ophthalmic laser procedures. This individual will be responsible for various duties including checking laser patients in, prepping the patient and obtaining any necessary vital signs, and administering eye drops as directed. This individual will also assist the physician with laser procedures and follow all safety procedures.  Medication aide certification from the state of Nebraska is required.  Successful applicants should have the following attributes: friendly, well-spoken, organized and detail oriented, focused on customer service, at ease interacting with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and be comfortable using the computer.  The position is full-time with benefits.
