Ophthalmic technical assistant – Midwest Eye Care is searching for cheerful, motivated individuals to assist our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their clinics. Technicians work at our three metropolitan offices and may occasionally travel with the doctor team to outlying rural clinics. Hours are generally 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, with one Saturday commitment each month from 8:00 to 12:00. Previous experience is preferred but not required. All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.  There is no application deadline for this position.

Clinic RN/LPN-C – Midwest Eye Care is a large, fast-paced ophthalmology clinic searching for cheerful, motivated RN/LPN-C’s interested in a challenging career assisting our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their clinics.   Previous experience with injections is preferred but not required.  LPN-C’s will need to be certified for venipuncture.  Excellent customer service skills, positive attitude and strong work ethic required.  Full-time with some travel required, and one Saturday morning commitment per month.  All holidays off and no on-call requirements.  All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.

This individual will assist with various ophthalmic tests.  Hours may vary but will be 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.  One Saturday per month is required as well.  Previous experience is preferred but not required. Optometric assistant – Midwest Eye Care is searching for cheerful, motivated individuals to assist our optometrists at our suburban optometry clinics.  This individual will also train in optical and at the front desk.    The individual will go between our 7202 Giles Road in La Vista location and  the location at 18111 Q Street in Omaha. There may also be travel to our other metro locations in Omaha and Council Bluffs. Our operating hours for the two offices are 8:00 – 1:00 and 2:00 – 5:30 on Monday and Wednesday-Friday, 12:00 – 7:00 on Tuesdays, and 8:00 – 12:00 on Saturdays.  The position will work approximately 40 hours per week, with varying time scheduled off to avoid overtime.  Employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month.  Successful applicants should have the following attributes: friendly, well-spoken, organized and detail oriented, focused on customer service, at ease interacting with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and be comfortable using the computer.  Previous experience is preferred but not required. Patient Balance Specialist – This position is primarily focused on billing patients for balances remaining after insurance payments.  The primary tasks include reviewing and preparing patient statements, as well as preparing special correspondence and making phone calls for past due balances.  The position also shares responsibility with the other eight patient accounts staff to answer billing phone calls and provide back-up for insurance counseling for surgical patients.  This position is based at 13500 California Street office. The hours are typically 8:00 to 5:00 but may vary slightly based on departmental needs.  The successful applicant would ideally have experience in a patient accounts or healthcare receptionist position; understanding how health insurance works is a key to doing well in this position.  The successful applicant must be adept at using a mouse and Windows-based software, and prior experience in a medical or customer service role is preferred.  All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.
