Ophthalmic technical assistant – Midwest Eye Care is searching for cheerful, motivated individuals to assist our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their clinics. Technicians work at our three metropolitan offices and may occasionally travel with the doctor team to outlying rural clinics. Hours are generally 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, with one Saturday commitment each month from 8:00 to 12:00. Previous experience is preferred but not required. All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.  There is no application deadline for this position.

Clinic RN/LPN-C – Midwest Eye Care is a large, fast-paced ophthalmology clinic searching for cheerful, motivated RN/LPN-C’s interested in a challenging career assisting our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their clinics.   Previous experience with injections is preferred but not required.  LPN-C’s will need to be certified for venipuncture.  Excellent customer service skills, positive attitude and strong work ethic required.  Full-time with some travel required, and one Saturday morning commitment per month.  All holidays off and no on-call requirements.  All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.

Registered Nurse (Casual) – Midwest Eye Surgery Center is searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in the PACU/OR. Experience in ophthalmology is a plus, but is not required. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of nursing care while supporting the concepts of patient-centered care in an efficient and timely manner. An ideal applicant will establish and maintain interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and other Midwest Eye Surgery Center personnel while assuring confidentiality of patient information. Optician – Spectacles at Midwest Eye Care is searching for an optician to sell and dispense eyeglasses at our metro Omaha and Council Bluffs locations.  The optician position supports the contact lens department by assisting with patient care and contact lens dispensing as well.  Scheduled hours for this position alternate between 8am to 5pm, or 8:30am to 5:30pm, Monday – Friday and include an alternating Saturday from 8:00 to 12:00.  We do require flexibility as opticians are occasionally required to attend 7:30am meetings, and float between our offices in Omaha and Council Bluffs.  We do pay for mileage and travel time between offices if the optician is required to be at two locations on the same day. Patient Accounts Manager – Midwest Eye Care (MEC) is accepting applications for its Patient Accounts Manager position.  The Patient Accounts Manager has the following responsibilities: Direct oversight for approximately 15 patient accounts personnel located primarily at two locations who are responsible for provide insurance counseling, charge entry, payment processing and claims follow-up for approximately 100,000 transactions per year.  The successful manager must be able to train and monitor employees to ensure that the charge-to-payment cycle is completed as quickly and accurately as possible for doctor, surgical facility, anesthesia and optical charges. Indirect oversight for approximately 15 registrars located at three locations who are responsible for registering and discharging patients, including the collection of patient payments and accurate demographic data.  Responsibility for reviewing new and amended insurance contracts and payer schedules.  The manager will also provide direction to the Compliance Manager regarding the credentialing requirements for each doctor. Work collaboratively with other members of the MEC management team.  Our management team members have an average tenure of over 15 years, and our employees have an average tenure of 8 years.   This position will be based at MEC’s office at 13500 California, although the new manager will spend considerable time during orientation at MEC’s headquarters at 4353 Dodge.  Applicants should have at least five years of management experience in a patient accounts setting, experience managing at least 10 staff members, and a consistent job history.   A bachelor’s degree is not required but will be considered. The new manager will replace the manager who intends to retire from the position in December 2017.  In order to ensure a smooth transition, MEC is interested in having the new manager begin as soon as July 2017. Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume and application form to Jay Slagle, Midwest Eye Care, 4353 Dodge Street, Omaha, NE 68131 or jslagle@midwesteyecare.com.  All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.
