Ophthalmic technical assistant – Midwest Eye Care is searching for cheerful, motivated individuals to assist our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their clinics. Technicians work at our three metropolitan offices and may occasionally travel with the doctor team to outlying rural clinics. Hours are generally 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday, with one Saturday commitment each month from 8:00 to 12:00. Previous experience is preferred but not required. All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.  There is no application deadline for this position.

Clinic RN/LPN-C – Midwest Eye Care is a large, fast-paced ophthalmology clinic searching for cheerful, motivated RN/LPN-C’s interested in a challenging career assisting our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their clinics.   Previous experience with injections is preferred but not required.  LPN-C’s will need to be certified for venipuncture.  Excellent customer service skills, positive attitude and strong work ethic required.  Full-time with some travel required, and one Saturday morning commitment per month.  All holidays off and no on-call requirements.  All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.

Patient Registrar – As a patient registrar, the employee will check in patients, input demographic and insurance information, summarize charges at the end of the exam and make the patient’s next appointment.  This position could be assigned to our offices at 4353 Dodge or 13500 California in Omaha, or 715 Harmony in Council Bluffs, so the employee must have reliable transportation.  The hours are typically 8:00 to 5:00 but may vary slightly based on patient schedules.  This position provides good exposure to health insurance basics.  The successful applicant must be adept at using a mouse and Windows-based software, and prior experience in a medical or customer service role is preferred. All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background and credit check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background and credit check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.

Optometric Assistant – Midwest Eye Care is searching for cheerful, motivated individuals to assist our optometrists at our suburban optometry clinics.  The primary location will be at our 7202 Giles Road in La Vista location but the individual may be required to travel to our other suburban location at 18111 Q Street and possibly at our other metro locations in Omaha and Council Bluffs. Our operating hours for the three offices are 8:00 – 1:00 and 2:00 – 5:30 on Monday and Wednesday-Friday, 12:00 – 7:00 on Tuesdays, and 8:00 – 12:00 on Saturdays.  The position will work approximately 40 hours per week, with varying time scheduled off to avoid overtime.  Employee will be required to work a minimum of 2 Saturdays a month.  Successful applicants should have the following attributes: friendly, well-spoken, organized and detail oriented, focused on customer service, at ease interacting with patients of all ages and backgrounds, and be comfortable using the computer.  Previous experience is preferred but not required. All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.

Diagnostic technician – Midwest Eye Care is searching for cheerful, motivated individuals to assist our ophthalmologists and optometrists in their diagnostic test departments. This individual will assist with various ophthalmic tests.  Hours may vary but will be 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday.  One Saturday per month is required as well.  Previous experience is preferred but not required. Call Center Operator – Midwest Eye Care has one open call center operator position.  Technical skills with multi-line phone system are preferred but not required. The call center department is responsible for receiving the majority of incoming phone calls to Midwest Eye Care.  The operator is responsible for identifying the purpose of the phone call and then distributing it as necessary.  The call center operators also schedule appointments for callers.  The position includes long periods of sitting, significant computer use with Windows-based software, and continuous contact with the public.  This position is based at our busy office at 4353 Dodge Street in Omaha.  The successful candidate should have strong experience in customer service and using Windows-based computer programs.  Medication aide certification would be helpful but is not required.  Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly is a must; optical knowledge is not required.  The hours for the position are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional meetings starting prior to 8:00 a.m.  All job offers are conditioned upon the satisfactory results of a background check and urine-based drug, alcohol and nicotine testing.  An applicant who has received a conditional job offer cannot begin working at MEC until the results from the background check and lab tests are reviewed and approved.

ICD/CPT Coder – Midwest Eye Care is searching for an experienced coder in coding surgical procedures using CPT coding.   The applicant should also be familiar with ICD9 and ICD10 diagnosis coding.  CPT coding certification or its equivalent is preferred.
